Comedian * Impressionist * Songwriter * Recording Artist celebrates 26 Years of Entertaining!

Without any major record label support, comedian Johnny Counterfit celebrates another milestone in the entertainment business this year.

Labeled as the, "Rich Little of Country Music", Johnny attributes his success to being prepared. "My priority in every show is to ensure the audience is thoroughly entertained," Johnny reveals.  "I believe that's why I've been able to successfully stay in this competitive business for so many years."

Johnny performs voice impressions of singers, actors, and politicians, from nostalgic to mainstream, with clean comedy and a live band, also includes songs he has written, and recorded in his own voice.  He estimates he has close to 200 voices in his repertoire.

It's true there have been a lot of changes over the past 26 years.  In 1981, then President Reagan was shot by a failed assassination attempt, the thought of the Dow Jones Industrial Average going over 10,000 was only a dream, and the big movie of the year was 'Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark', with star Harrison Ford.

Counterfit has seen a lot of changes as well since he decided to make show business a full time career.  "I started out singing at the Nashville West, a club in Portland, Oregon, on open mic night.  Since then, I've performed at many fairs, festivals, corporate events, plus theater and show rooms across the Western Hemisphere; this includes Las Vegas, twice for the President at the White House, in the Caribbean, Canada, England, and in Nashville, Tennessee at the Grand Ole Opry, which was a long time goal of mine."

Most recently, Johnny has been seen on many national networks like FOX Family and TBS, including the shows "America's Funniest People", and "Show Me the Funny".  Counterfit was also the voice of lead character, Rex, in the Emmy-winning holiday special, "A Claymation Christmas".

From one Nashville to another, Johnny has proven that talent and perseverance is the key.  Since moving to Nashville, Tennessee in 1993, he has been seen on TNN, including Crook & Chase, Prime Time Country, Country's Family Reunion, and The Grand Ole Opry.  He has recorded on albums with George Jones, "It Doesn't Get Any Better Than This", Merle Haggards', "Cabin In The Hills", and Marty Stuarts', "The Pilgrim" with Johnny Cash.

"I'm a huge fan of Johnny Cash," Counterfit states.  "He once said of my impression of him, 'He's the best I've ever seen!'...that was a big honor for me!  My favorite voice to perform has always been that of the man in black!

While Johnny always includes a Cash song in his shows, you can bet on hearing between 25 to 30 different voices in a one hour performance, like George Jones, Vince Gill, Garth Brooks, Willie Nelson, Julio Iglesias, Rodney Dangerfield, Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Presidents Bush, Clinton, and Reagan, and the audience favorite, Edith & Archie Bunker, both voices!

Former TNN (The Nashville Network) host Ralph Emery, once said that Johnny is,
One of the most crowd pleasing entertainers I have ever met!  If you would like to catch one of Johnny's shows, check out his schedule page for more information.

With or without a major label, this writer believes the next 24 years will prove to be gold for this Counterfit!
